Question Jeep LS1 nv5600 and ???

I am building a CJ-7 and have started with a LS1 and would like a manual transmission but was told the nv4500 would not work, so I am looking at the nv5600 or t56. what I need to know is will an atlas II bolt up to this nv5600 or where I can find some more information?

I would check out advanced adapters.

That and search through some of the rock crawling forums, like pirate4x4.com.

Sounds like a nice project!

Im pretty sure advance adapters has the stuff to make the NV4500 work with the LS1, physically it will bolt up if it is made to bolt up to any other SBC, its the clutch and flywheel stuff that you need to worry about.

nv4500 should work fine. you don't want a t56. i put an auto in mine, so i'm not really that much help to you. i know they have an adapter for a atlas II to nv 4500.

why not keep the dana 300? a 4:1 kit is less than half the price of an atlas II

I'm hoping to put my soon to be old 4L60e and Xfer case in my '78 CJ7 along with the 5.3. I guess it'll fit with a buttload of fabrication.

Not really sure, kinda in the planning stages. Hopefully I'll start progressing along this summer.
