Just FYI, I'm in the middle of doing this swap right now. It says in this thread that you can use your stock master cylinder. My truck is a 2000 Silverado 4x4. My master cylinder definitely looks different than the one pictured in this thread. I took my hydroboost and master cylinder from a 2003 Escalade. Check out the difference.

I'm going to be swapping the master cylinders as well. I'm not sure why my truck has such a small master cylinder in comparison to the hydroboost one.

I just wanted to point out that the diameter of the master cylinder itself is the same, but the length is different. (obviously) So, I suppose one could use the smaller factory one. I'm not sure why the truck needs such a large reservoir of brake fluid.

Not sure if the esacalade has rear drums or disc but drum brakes usually require a greater volume of fluid.

The escalade had rear dual piston calipers.

It might just be a early model year thing. My 2000 has 4 wheel disc brakes.

One other thing, my brake lines to the master cylinder are bent differently as well. I think I'm going to be able to make it work though.

Something else I want to add. I've been contorting myself in all sorts of weirdo positions in an effort to get to the vacuum booster and brake pedal bolts. It turns out, you can see these bolts pretty clearly through if you remove the fuse panel cover and look past the fuse block.

This is the best picture I could get. See the ratchet back there?

I just finished the install with the help of this guide. I didn't feel like taking the power steering pump off. I figured if I'm going to be taking it off, I may as well swap on the proper power steering pump.

I managed to get the high pressure line off by removing the front air dam and using a crowfoot attachment.
