Default How far did you push your 4L6XE and Transgo HD2

I upgraded my trans last nov with a built unit, before I started playing with nitrous, just to be safe. I had no problems out of my stock 60E with a HD2 and corvette, and sonnex 4th servos. Chase told me it looked great inside, and thought it was neat that I had beat on it so much with no wear. Well, the built unit got trashed when my drive shaft came appart, and I am finnally getting a trans after 3 months down. I found a 4L65E out of a 06 GTO with 8K miles that I am going to put my old valve body with HD2, and servo's in this trans, and run it for a while till I figure out my next step.

I know some have found luck with a 60e, but how far did you push your 60/65 with a HD2 before you upgrade, or broke....I am trying to see just how paranoid I am. I want to go racing before cold weather runs out.

Oh, no N2O, just N/A for me. If you ran nitrous, tell me how much, and how did the stocker like it?

Thanks

I almost feel like I am jinxing myself by posting, but... I have the hd2, upgraded accum pistons, transgo separator plate, vette and sonnax servos, and the trucool 40k cooler and my trans is doing great at 118k, with probably 16k with the blower. Considering my tahoe is prob 3 tons, I am very happy with it.

Knowing your driving habbits, I think you'll be fine for awhile. The factory 65e 3-4 clutch has held up to some decent power IMO.

If I had to guess the forward sprag will be the first thing to go, only forward movement in manual 1st and 2nd.

sounds like alot of guys are having good luck with there hd2 kits on a stock trans. I got my 65E today, and swapped my old valve body, and servo's over to it. so I will beat on it for a while till I can afford to go 80e prolly. I got a few odd and ends to get, and I should have it going next week sometime. about damn time lol.
