Default Homemade Drop vs Custom Drop Kit

Which is better? i heard cutting the springs and heating the leaf springs work the same as a $250 Drop Kit? correct me if im wrong!.......

it will give the same amount drop, but that is where the similarities end

In my opinion cutting and de-arching springs is the cheap way to get hurt and/or cause damage to your ride. Spend the $250 on a real drop.

Uh, no.


It might make it lower, but it'll ride like absolute crap and will be unsafe as well. Drop kits usually retain your stock ride (when using new Lower Control Arms or Spindles up front and shackles/hangers in the rear or a flip kit depending on how low you want to go)

I'd look into McGuaghties or DJM to drop your truck.

Why spent 20-30k on a truck only to completely cheap out on the suspension and make the truck dangerous?
