Default Having to replace the intermediate shaft again.

I brought my truck in to the dealership, because of the knocking in my steering wheel. They replaced the intermediate shaft, problem went away. Now the knock is back, has anyone else had to have the 'improved' shaft replaced? I have about 500 miles left on the 12/12 warranty, so im going to bring it in before the warranty runs out.

You can have it packed with marine-tec grease. Mine is still quiet after 2 years. Or you can keep replacing the shafts.....

I've had my shaft replace twice. Two supposedly fixed revisions. It started knocking again. Just as stated. Pull it off and pack it with a good grease. I did it in about 30 minutes maybe a year ago and still good.

I will have it replaced again. When the knocking comes back, I will pack it with grease.

What is the preferred grease?

Thanks

I used a Bel-Ray waterproof grease. Kind used for offroad bearings and the like. Only because I had it from my biking days.

they replaced it on a 'good faith basis' since i had it in there before. it was replaced under warranty before, and he said since it has 41000 miles on it, it isnt covered by warranty. thing drives like it should now.

Just repack the one you have, with the type of grease mentioned in the above posts. Save your $$
