I am considering purchasing a suburban K2500 with quad steering for towing a travel trailer.
I have not herd anything good or bad about them

I drove a sierra with it and its definately nice especially in parking lots, dont know about longevity

 

i read in a bunch of magazines the you CAN NOT go larger on the tires though because the rear steering can't take the extra weight and traction of the extra width...

 

it is expensive if it breaks, I have not seen one in the shop though!!!

 

last time i talked to my GM sales rep at the local dealer he said only 5,000 units were sold in the USA!!!! thats why they got rid of the option...

 

it was prohibitivly expensive... no one wanted to pay for the $5,000 option. It seems that the system is reliable and it's supposed to revert to normal steering and straighten the rear wheels if a problem is detected. with them now on the used market for a decent price it may be reasonable to purchase, just keep in mind replacement parts may be hard to come by.

I have had no problems with mine. You should see the looks I get from people on parking lots. From a red light I can do a U turn from inside lane to inside lane. The handling on Mountain roads is unblievable.
