Smile Fuddle results

I picked my truck up from the shop today. The tranny had been slipping for the past few weeks so I decided to have everything done at once. I had a Fuddle 2800, Transgo Reprogramming Kit, Servos and a few other things. This is the first time driving any vehicle with a high stall so it is a little weird.
Spinning the tire (powertrax goes in soon) is so easy now, it's not even funny. Actually, it is! Anyway, from a roll, when I floor it, the rpms jump to 4k and stays there while the speed is increasing, then after a bit, the rpms start climbing then it shifts. I don't remember what the shift points are. There was too much traffic I had to worry about. I'm about to take it out again, find a quiet road and see what it'll do.

What stall-torque ratio did you go with?

It's a 2.0 STR.

I just came back from a few test runs. It started raining so I couldn't play too long.

My shift points are at 5600 rpm (I'm going to have Allen raise that). When it shifts, it drops to 4100 rpm. I usually try to take off fairly easy but this TC makes it feel really weird when I do that. So I kinda have to take off more aggressively. I can see the mileage dropping already.

One thing the mechanic did mention that he didn't like about the converter is that the bolt holes aren't threaded. You have to put a nut on the back side of the flywheel. He said the first two where no problem, but the last one took about 1 1/2 hours! He finally got it with a magnet on a wire.

I'll keep posting my results.

at what point are you nailing it on a roll for it to flash to 4K? have you flashed it from a dead stop to see where it stalls at? reason for asking is i am sooooooo close to ordering either a 26 or 28. i am waiting on a pm response from john at fuddle. how is it in daily driving?

That's a pretty decent shift extension.

If I'm going about 50, and I stomp it, it downshifts and stays around 4100 rpms till about 60-65, then the revs start climbing.

It will brake stall at just under 2800. The daily driving is ok I guess. In stop and go traffic, it is really weird. It takes about 2200 revs to get it up to about 10 mph. I can see the city gas mileage sucking already. In the country it's a nice change. I like hearing the engine rev when I take off. I just need a meaner sounding exhaust.

Ask Nelson if he can set your part throttle shift points a bit lower.
Ahh ****, that wont work. It's by mph not rpm.

New update! This thing is awsome in the rain! Not for the reason you might think Before, when I would try to take off on a wet road, it would start spinning the tires with as little as 1100-1200 rpms. Now, I can take off with no problem. I can even take off quite a bit faster than before and still not spin them. Of course, if I really get on it, that all changes.

Fuddle is new brand of converter brand atleast to me. STR is the torque multiplication that a caonverter offers. I jsut ordered mine it has a 2.2 str so it multiplies the torque greater than a normal converter which helps you get going alot faster.
