03 Silverado ss 75k miles installed a small stall converter new cooler corvette servo and a trans go hd shift kit. Shifts through all gears fine 1-2 was kinda harsh so today I got my laptop and adjusted 1-2 part throttle shift. I got it where I like it I have drove it very little and babied it when I did. Well I pushed it some today at about 50-75% throttle when it hit second it slipped rpm went straight to 5k before I let out. I felt good about shift kit and servo install but doesn't mean I didn't miss something. I need some ideas to help me troubleshoot this thing any input is appreciated

Ok I know it's not a tune related issue but I do have a thought I purchased a complete vette servo ready to drop in. My question is could it be possible that with using new rod could my band adjustment be off enough to cause the slip?

Yes i the pin is too short it will cause the band to not engage at all, or engage enough to wear the band but not hold the drum... You should have air checked the serbo when you put it in to make sure it was actuating and applying the band....

I thought I've read about people messing up the seals on the servo when installing as well.

thanks it's going to the shop I'm done with it but took the servo back out and seals were good and pin looked to be same installed it all and it will hold to about 5k before it slips now. Am I thinking right servo tightens band and band does 2-4 right so that could very well be my problem??

There is a bunch of reasons why second would slip, bad solenoid, lack of line pressure, leaking servo seal(s), incorrect servo pin length, cracked case, stuck checkball burnt band, burnt reverse input drum... Hell a bad sunshell could cause no 2nd gear....leaking valve body gasket.... Incorrect valve body torque.... List goes on and on!!!
