Default found something new on my tahoe.

i had my truck up on the lift today and was looking it over. i seen something odd though. my front diff does not have the little electric gear looking thing on the side of it. thought it was odd because every other nbs i've seen has it o there even my silverado with the floor shifter. any way something else diffrent with this thing. i find something new everyday. just like i didn't know the rear of the suv's have dual piston calipers

Just think of how much those suckers cost to replace with a new OEM caliper... btw, GM recommends that they be changed in pairs... don't ask how I know this.

its cause its ALL WHEEL DRIVE - all the time traction action. There's no engaging/disengaging of the front axle to be done........

Same thing on my SS. I believe the rotors were defective because the metal on them kinda flaked off and left those thin wear spots on my rotors. Those rotors were $99 each at Advance Auto Parts...ouch. My parking brake shoes were messed up too, another $65 plus the pads. Yep, it was an expensive day.

that why i took mine apart today to check them. so should i take them in under waranty? if the wear mark is thin then thier bad right?

thats what i've been telling people the whole time yet some still believe its auto trac lol. now if some one could just get me a break down of the transfer case is there anyway to get a torque rating for it? many have found them for the 60e 80e and the regular transfer case where can i get it for mine? (borg warner 4482)
thanks again

yeah i've gotten into a few arguements over this. they only did it for like two years. most people keep telling me its autotrac when its not and that front axle proves alot. now just to get a 80e bolted up and i'll have a good awd machine with selectable 4lo. lol
