Alright so i went to put the torque converter bolts in and not to my suprise somthing else wasnt right. I see the bolt patern on my 6.0 flywheel is bigger than the 4l60 torque converter. The tranny is out of a 99 z28 so i geuss my question is what fly wheel do i need or can mine be modified to work.

If I understand this correctly.... you have a 2003 2500HD 6.0L. You pulled the 4l80E out of it and replacing it with a 60E?

If so you need the 4.8/5.3L flexplate.

No this is in a 92 rcsb that i swapped a 6.0 in. the tranny is a 4l60 out of a 99 camaro. The flywheel on the 6.0 was originaly bolted up to a 4l80 but im using a 4l60.

You need to swap to a 4.8L/5.3L flex plate and remove the spacer that should be in between the crank and flexplate.

If it happens to me a long crank 6.0L engine. 99 and back. You will not be able to use a 60e behind it.

This is a picture of a 5.3L flexplate on an 80E converter. The 80E bolt pattern is larger.

Is there a spacer between the crank and flywheel and if so what is it there for.

Its for a clearance difference of the 60e versus the 80e. I have a 4.8/5.3 flywheel if needed....

You'll also need the shorter bolts flexplate to crank for the 5.3 flexplate.

Here is a pic of the spacer. It will probably come off attched to the flexplate.
