I also think, from what you've stated, you may have engaged limp mode... did you ever end up getting HPT?
no the bad part about it is that i am over an hour away from home and nobody that i know can help. i haven't got HPT yet, i have just been trying to get everything to get it ready for boost. what do i do to get it out of limp mode if that is whats wrong.

Well without scanning its hard to say for sure but it sounds like it may be a stall code , PO757 the PCM become confused about the stall RPM verses output speed and assumes theres something wrong when theres not and sets limp mode. The fix if this is the case is to remove the test for that code from PCM programing.

Well it will work to clear the code not sure about deleting the test for the code, I know in EFILIVE theres just a box you uncheck and thats it but have never seen a predator. Yo might ask about that in the tuning section either here or on tech,

Definitely sounds like a limp mode condition due to the 3600 PI. I would have to bet by what you have stated that the computer sent the trans to a limp mode condition when it shifted to second gear. 3RD gear starts. I will bet if you get it scanned you will have a PO751 or a PO757 code for the solenoids. You will need to have those codes cleared and then the test for the codes deleted with tuning. Vince

No you should not have to delete that one, I would check the pulg conection at the speed sensor though.

Something similar to this happend to my 1st level 5 4L70E. I was just cruising down the road doing about 70-75 and I just stepped on the gas to go around a slower driver (I didnt hammer it or anything) and mine started jerking real bad kinda like what your describing. The rpms were up quite a bit as well. So I took it to the dealership where I used to work at and my mechanic buddy drove it and said its trying to grab 3rd gear and theres nothing there to grab. Mine would also downshift into 2nd and 1st as well. I also noticed that my trans was running really hot as well. It usually runs 130-150 and it was up to 220 by the time I got to the dealership and its just a few miles down the road. I called chuck at finish line and told him what was going on. I ended up having to yank the trans the next day and send it back to them to fix. Chuck told me the stator shaft was out of alignment from the factory and thats what caused the problem. They fixed it free of charge and ate the shipping both ways for me. All I was out of was a few busted knuckles and some time taking the trans out and putting it back in. Needless to say I would give them a shout and they will take care of ya man.
