I did some BS searching with alldata, i found a 2005 Suburban 2500 2wd came with 80e I think when i do my swap from 5 speed to 80e swap. I plan to modify the ends to run hose fittings because i have to run a External cooler only.

Great info Ray. I remember us talking about those lines. I'm kinda glad my line wound up being long. Kinda prodded me into going ahead and upgrading the cooler.

Let me correct myself. I put 1500 but meant 2500. I wonder if a van configuration would work. I know some express vans came with 4.8 4l80's.

As far as the cooler lines? Only trucks work. Van s/metal,suspension,and cooler locations are completely different.

Hd trucks to hd trucks.

If you want them to fit the reg trucks the 2500 burb/av are the ticket and p# are now provided.

I am bringing this thread back up because I think I am going to get the 96 4L80E trans in the garage built for the 5.3 turbo motor that I have any thoughts?

It'd probably be cheaper to buy a good used 80E from a 2000+ vehicle. It'd already have all the factory upgrades.
