Well I've been debating how much to drop the truck, it gets driven alot and I'm not one to completely slam my dd. I settled on a budget 2/4 and actually am very pleased with the result and ride of it. I am running 275 55 17's on the stock wheels. On the front, I removed the struts (was a breeze suprisingly) and removed the springs (use the right tools as these ***** were tight). I cut exactly one coil off of each and upon reassembly the spring set kind-of crooked due to the way it was wound at the top from the factory. However, once the struts were back on and it was lowered down with full weight on it, they straightened out like new. The ride is a little stiffer than stock but the handling is awesome. It netted me about 2 1/4" drop from just cutting one coil.

On the rear, I removed the overload spring (don't haul anything ever), already had the block removed and installed 2" shackles. That netted me about 4 1/4" total in the rear. Ride feels the same as before. I did trim the bumpstops by about 1 1/2" as well. Rear went good as well.

The truck has about 1/2 to 3/4 rake (which i like) and looks 100 times better. I have $40.00 tied up in the lowering job and it took about 4 1/2 hours. I know there are people that are against cutting coils and removing the overload....I not one of those. Im happy as hell with it and I'm glad it went smoothly!!!

Are you guys having to buy an alignment kit or is there enough left on the factory cams to get the camber back in line??

You're not low enough to need a camber kit.

I'm 4/7 and barely need one.

You'll be borderline needing an alignment kit. Any spring/strut drop over 2" will be close to maxing out the factory cams.
