driveshaft balancing

Default driveshaft balancing

I have noticed, like many others, since I have gotten my 4.10's put in that I have a harmonic type vibe up over 110-115... I know that these truck are electronically limited because they arent balanced for that kind of driveline speed... how much do you guys normally get charged to have driveshafts balanced... in my case, a set of driveshafts... for high speeds. I know mine has been thrown out of whack from breaking U-joints and getting beat up a little. it just needs to be put back smooth so I dont have any problems if I do decide to push it up around 130's or so....

I have the dana/spicer(read stock) 2pc setup and have had no problems up to 140ish, is yours a 2pc or one?

his is 2 piece, he also has a 3/5 drop on it w/o shims that I'm sure doesn't help.

plus 4.11's!!!!

if you are 2 piece, get some shims in there first. the 2 piece doens't leave much to feel due to the short run. Not that it can't, just rare if that's the case.

same as cody; 65 here just for a balance. 55 if you know someone who knows someone's brother of the girlfirend of the guy that delivers the water for the water cooler to the shop next door. LOL

I cant find those damn shims around here anywhere!!!! I would have already done it.

I think DJM sells both the carrier bearing and leaf spring shims

I have a slight vibe coming out of the hole, thats the pinion angle I am sure of... but the one at high speeds is the shaft itself... Its got a little ding in it since it has been thrown out of the truck a couple times from breaking u-joints.
