You can get by without the tubes, but you will have to air them up all the time.

I don't run tubes in my hoosier 28x10.5s or any of my hoosiers for that matter. They don't seem to ever go flat. Now every M/T tire I've used has lost air bad.

Tubes can be a good idea but can also be trouble. You never know when the sideway is going to pinch a hole in the tube and then boom, you're stranded. The tube will help stiffen the tire up to hold a high horsepower, heavy vehicle. Kind of a damned if you, damned if you don't.

I don't run them, but I am thinking about trying them...

I run them but I screwed the tires to the wheels. Don't wanna soon the rim inside the tire somehow and tear off the valve stem.

i don't run tubes in my 63 and they hold air very well. i had problems with breaking tubes by the tire slipping on the wheel from hard launches. it eventually rips the tubes

Rub dawn dish soap on the insides of the tires coat about 3 times allow to dry a day or so now you wont have to air them up so much.
