Default converter/shift kit ???

I recently got a Wait for me tune, and I am not at all happy with the shifts. I am getting ready to put in the Transgo regular shift kit, corvette servos and a aftermarket cooler. Hopefully this will help me out, I only picked up like .2 tenths with the tune in the 1/8th, so I am not totally happy with the tune in general. I am thinking about going ahead and putting in a TQ converter as well, but I was just qurious about how much stall to get with the stock cam. I want to put in a cam but it is going to be a while before I have the cash. I was thinking about a Fuddle at around 2800. Has anyone else went with a stall on the stock cam, if so what kind of improvemets did you see.

I put a Vigilante 2400 in my Tahoe but I don't run times. I also have the stock cam. I stuck with 2400 because I tow somewhat regularly. Big SOTP improvement due to the bigger torque multiplier and higher stall. I can spin the tires now if I want when I could rarely with the stock converter. Bear in mind I also had Chuck rebuild by trans at the same time.

2/10's in the 1/8 is about 4/10's in the 1/4 right?? I'd send the tune back and tell Jesse to firm up the shifts, unless you told him you were putting a shift kit in, then it would shift factory until the shift kit is in.

That sounds pretty impressive for just a tune to me. The shift kit is the only and best way to get nice firm shifts.

I am definately going to put the shift kit in and have Jesse re-tune the ECM. I just do not want to blow this tranny right now, I know it will eventually go but I need another 30k out of it at least. I want to go ahead and put in a stall, but I just don't want too much. Hopefully someone on here will have some times with the stock cam and around 2800 stall. I dont think that will be too much. Let me know what you guys think. I know a guy that put a 3500 in a 99 Vette with the stock cam and picked up .6 in the 1/8th. I know that is very un-realistic for a truck but it should be around .3 at least.

If you do the converter, I would definatly also do the HD-2 and vette servos as well as a tranny cooler. The converter puts a good bit of heat in the tranny. And the shift kit really strengthens it up.
