Yea, thats exactly what happened with the seals. Thats what I get for not paying attention.

About the pump....how much does the teflon position make a difference...? That pump is already installed and working fine... I really really dont want to pull the trans for a 3rd time in a week

The thing is the Teflon piece will easily slide where the oring like rubber piece could easily bind or roll if this makes sense. This in my opinion will cause the pump to break or cause a low pressure condition when rubber piece does this. I personally have never built a pump like this so I can not honestly tell you what will happen for sure. I would not chance it. Vince
