ok ive heard doing a burnout and letting off in 2nd at high rpm is very bad for your tranny, now how do you do a burn out without giving the tranny too much hell

burnout at the track?
long driving burnout?

post your ideas what to do to take a lil better care of our trannys

 

Just roll out of it. When at the track I usually do a about a 4 second burnout and then roll out of the water box. I think just letting off the gas completely during a burnout is what's harsh on them.

Dang lol I've never got out of first gear while doing a burnout!

 

I have always ran in 3rd. Burnouts I shift the trans manually to 2nd gear, slow down the revs on the way out of the pit..

 

yeah do what mangled said if its an 80e. the free rev shift into 2nd is what can hurt them. light on the gas through 1st then manual shift to 2nd. or third

 

LOL, I got a 60, I have always felt it is just easier on parts that way.

 

haha well you do a perfect burnout for saving an 80E. on my 60e i just put it in m3 and keep wheel speed around 80-90 for a few seconds

 

Whats crazy..... my 80E doesnt whine near as bad as it did before this weekend....
its done tons of 1-2 shifts during burnouts.. haha poor trans.
