Default Broken Transmission... suggestions?

So, my transmission is broken... very broken.

So, considering I obviously don't have a core, I'm thinking Performabuilt lvl 2, I'm not making near the power that they're rated for, but I emailed them to ask, and the reply was literally "Trucks are heavy, I'd get a level 2", is there anything else I should look into?
Also... does anyone know what could have caused this? There was no loud bang, and nothing unusual... as far as I know, I've been driving it this way for over 200 miles.

I see a broken extension housing...Your pictures are a little ruff but if the extension housing is broke take a close look at your front drive shaft slip yoke. HTH Vince

Yeah, I just took them with my phone real quick, I knew they weren't going to be the best, I'll get a couple better ones tonight when I get it pulled out. It's broken around where it mates to the transfer case.

Any idea what would have caused this to happen?
What do I need to check my front drive shaft slip yolk for? Scoring? damaged splines?
Anything else I need to look for?

I've never really done a transmission on these trucks, the other two I grenaded were under warranty.

It's pretty common for them to break like Vince said.. Just replace the extension housing & keep on trucking..

I'd put a new slip yoke and ext housing on and keep rolling unless more is hurt

I don't know how good of shape my clutch packs are, granted, some of the fluid had leaked out on the floor of the shop while it sat over the weekend, but when I pulled the drain plug, I got about a quart, and it smells a little burnt, when I parked it, I still had all gears, and I'm about 90% sure that my converter is what could have burnt the fluid. While the converter was slipping on the way home, the trans temp got to 195.

flush it, refill and see what happens before you pull it IMO.
