Default broke a t56

Well I just tore 2nd gear out of my ls1 powered 6 speed 69 camaro. Took it out this evening because it hadnt left the house since super chevy sunday back this summer.I was doing a righteous burnout and went to 2nd it ground a little and was gone, all this happend while the motor was turning over 6000 rpm. This car has done this several times but never broke anything.Okay with this being said can I get some tips on rebuilding the trans myself.I know there are several places I could send it to but I need to learn to do it myself so if I tear the one out of my truck I have one build under my belt. Any help appreciated.

Go to ls1tech.com, and do a search. Somebody posted a link to the scematics and rebuild diagrams for a T56. T56rebuilds.com also sells a rebuild manual I believe.

Yeah, I kinda know what you mean, but they do have some good tech guys over there. Now Carving Corners it is a totally different story, those guys are just plain dicks.

I know what your saying there, I was on my 4th rear end after almost 3 years in my old truck. 2 stockers, an auburn and the eaton was the last one which seemed to hold up to when i sold it. Im going easier on my new truck though, just going to do a 14 bolt if this one goes. You have any pis of the car it self, love 69' camaros.
