But how much of a difference does it make? On your average convertor how much is the flash stall speed going to increase going from a smaller motor (4.8) to a larger motor (6.0)?
We talking 200RPMs or closer to 1000?

There is really no exact measurement as it varies with converter configuration, amount of torque increase and weight of vehicle. If the converter is a large diameter and is very tight to start with, a small increase will be noticed from the increased torque. If the converter is a small diameter and really loose the difference will be more pronounced.

This is a good topic and hopefully more light can be shed.
I am currently trying to decide on a converter for my 07 4.8 liter, but don't know what to go with. I plan on eventually going with a smaller cam, like a comp 206/212 112 LSA or something similar. I don't want to go with a huge converter preferably 2600-2800 RPM, but I also want it to work with the cam.
I'd like to go with a trailblazer converter, but don't know how it would work behind a 4.8 liter.

i have a good question. who all here can sit at a stop light come to a complete stop. slowly release the brakes and sit perfectly still. i'm talking flat road in drive.
i think wieght and traction (brakes)nhave alot to do with it. my silverado 4wd would stall up to about 3000. with the same converter in my hoe (i took it out of the truck and installed to tahoe) it will stall to about 3200-3300. truck had a cammed ls1 tahoe is stock 5.3l.
