Pull the tranny, pull ALL the guts out of the tranny, remove one c-clip replace shaft (if it didn't break anything else) Put it all back together and put it back in.

I just did this.

While they have it, if your going to stay with the 65e, might think long and hard about that $550 billet output shaft.

Last time I broke an output shaft, It took the whole transmission with it. And I mean EVERYTHING. I would put the billet shaft in there while they have it apart.

Unfortunately that seems to be an issue with converter depth and also weak hubs in trucks. I think it also has something to do with the weight of your vehicles. I will say that the hubs on the Yank converters seem to be a bit thicker then other companies and I like that. I have seen plenty of cases of this in units not built at FLT as well so it is what it is. We are currently working on a solution for a stronger pump rotor but these things take time. I honestly can not remember the last time I had a failure that was builder error. Quality control is very important in this shop and will never change. I take my work very personal and do not appreciate the comment. Vince

BTW Frank thanks for chiming in here to clarify what failed in that unit. I have not seen that failure often but it totally make sense. Sucks when it happens but good to see you are working with your customer. Vince
Sorry if I offended you didn't mean to. I never said anything about warranty, The person who started this thread trans wasn't under warranty either, I simply stated that youre tranys break also I know I broke one. Anything with moving parts high H/p in a heavy truck is gonna Break. Ive been very happy with both of my FLT transmisions. FLT has great customer service and a great product but 4L65e's just dont last.

What kind of power are you making?? I know mine has been living with 600 or so at the crank without a hiccup.... Soon to be closer to 700 with more boost.

On my high boost setting I would guess somewhere around 600rwhp. I think I am going to pick up a billet output shaft while it's still at Performabuilt for some extra strength. I am also having my verter restalled to 3k for some more fun.
