Default Body Lift Install - Help

Hi, I want to get a 3 inch body lift for my truck. Im guessing i dont have whatit take to lift the body and install the spacers so what im asking is how many hours labour it would be at a shop or an approx. cost to install a body lift.

Thanks

Korey

Figure on about 8-10 hours of labor at whatever your shop charges per hour.

I've helped do a couple on Avalanches. It's not hard just time consuming. There is a little metal cutting that can be done with a torch or a sawzall. Other than that, you just need basic hand tools, time, and a extra pair of hands helps.

To lift the body from the truck all you need is a jack and a piece of wood. Everything else is basic metric wrenches. Do it yourself its easy just get a buddy for an extra hand. Your basic everyday do it yourselfer can do this. Very easy. If you run into problems just pm me i have installed many body lifts. Save your money for the next mod.

I did mine all by myself and it took me around 7 hours. I didn't have anyone to help with moving the bed and cap around while I was trying to line up the bolts, if I did it would have saved time. And the front bumper was a bitch other than that it was ok.

Do the kits come with a good clear set of instructions. Im leaning toward doing it myself now. So ill need a jack or 2 and some blocks of wood, some wrenchs and a helper and i should be all set? Thanks for the help guys.

I'd say do it yourself if you've got decent hand tools and a good jack. Mine took me about 8 hours, but a lot of that was building new bumper brackets for my custom front bumper, and a little alteration for the roll pan in the back.

IMO, a body lift is totally not worth it, you should just get a suspension lift, it would look so much better.

but if u decide to put the 3'' body lift on , the labor should only take a half a day at most if u do it urself
