anyone ever hear of battle bars?

Default anyone ever hear of battle bars?





this company doesn't have any that fit the fullsize yet but he says it is on his list of things to work on. the owner of the company has a v8 turbo awd s10 running in the 9's and is currently building a stouter 420" motor with twin 67's needless to say we talked on the phone for at least an hour. super nice guy with a ton of knowlage.

i told him i might copy his design for my truck and he was cool with it. so i might try and make a set. my question is would these be any better than a caltrac? he had total respect for caltracs but did point out a couple of advantages of his bars.

his bars are completly quiet all the time, set on hard or soft launch they are quiet.
no bushing to swap out.
stock ride when set on soft.
bars have zero effect when braking.

he told me alot of the guys preload the right rear to help keep the truck planted squarely when launched.

i dont know how the caltracs even work and am looking to get something done this week. do these look like they might work better than a caltrac? i am reading up on the syty board right now to see what they think since that is his current market.

what kind of pricing are there for the vehicles they fit?

similur to the the caltracs but i think the only aplications are s10 based stuff and dodge dakota.

i did a prety good search on the syty board. it seems these are prety new and not a lot of reports on how well they work. if i can't find where they work better than a caltrac for traction i will probably just buy some caltracs.

Does it bolt up at the frame or hanger area?
I really don't see it working that much better than the Caltracs. Though with the urathane bushings used on the Battle bars and the use of the stock leaf spring bushing, I can understand why they would be quieter than the Caltracs.
There's another traction bar very similar to the Caltracs, but I forget who makes them. I've seen them in the Summit Catalog I have.
Maybe Hotchkis or Competition Engineering.
Good luck with the traction bar upgrade and that 9sec pass!

Is this the guy from Mississippi that was "discovered" about a year ago on here and was going to build some for the full size chevy. If my memory best serves me he started out with Dakotas.

could be. i like the idea of quiet and no bushing change but it could be a long time before he has any to sell to us. i was considering building a set but i dont think i feel like working that hard and will probably just go with the caltracs.

i though about buying these and doing what ever needed to fit our trucks just said puck it and am going with a ladder are 4 link just will not have time to get it together for the gtg
