Default Anyone ever cut the frame to make their RCLB a RCSB?

Im thinking about selling my 02 that I just got and getting a RCLB 4x4 duramax so I can chop the frame and make it a RCSB. Anyone ever had this done to any other truck? How much did it cost you? I know it's been done before plenty of times for older c10s and such. Mainly looking for an idea on how much it would cost.

there is a guy in town that just did this to a 99 cummins. its pretty sweet. he made some extra brackets, made dam sure it was straight and square and welded it all up, shortened his driveshaft and all his lines and put the shortbed on it.

Yeah I've seen one on YouTube, Earnhardt or something I think it's called. I wouldn't mind a ford either, but I don't want their 6.0.

I guess I need to find someone around dfw that's done it before and get a price.

Check on duramax diesels dot com. Look up a user named Lennart. He had a write up called "short cut". He even made a PDF file for it.

Yeah I've seen that truck, very badass.
It seems the easiest way to do this is find a ecsb or ccsb frame and cut the frame behind the cab, do the same to the RCLB and weld the short bed to the RCLB frame. Definetly the cheapest though.

Easiest is to get a RCLB and a short bed box. Make one cut. Move hangers. Done.

Obviously that is the abridged version. But you get the point.
