Default anyone done something crazy like......

....used 3:42's or 3:73's and then gone with a high stall like a 3500 or so. that way you still get off the line fast but keep a little of your mileage on the highway. probably a dumb question but just curious. thanks

I'd think it'd help if your traction limited, but it'll heat the fluid up like crazy

I got 3.73's and a 3200 stall. Cooler should help. I completely rebuilt my tranny so it's a lot stronger. Before stall I was getting 22 mpg (computer tune helped), now I'm getting about 19. Didn't hurt me a whole lot. Havn't run quarter with the stall yet, but it catches second gear and will absolutely fly. COuple of friend's cars.... 5.0 M5 mustang fox body, easily beat him.... ls1 A4 camaro, beat him as well... 03 cobra M6 mustang, beat me after 65 mph PUT A TORQUE CONVERTER IN IT!!!!

I had 3.73's and a 3800 stall and it worked great. 2100rpms at 70mph and a best of 1.48 sixty foot. I thought it was about perfect for the street.
