My stock 5 speed driveshaft held up fine to multiple dyno pulls and several high speed runs. When I went to the T56(it has the smaller 4l60e yoke) I had problems. Ended up with the aluminum metal matrix from dynotechengineering
They do carbon fiber as well.

Are u RC or EC? It makes a difference. Some will say they charge by the inch. You really gotta want this, cause they cost a bunch. $$$$.

You'll need a measurement. U do know they can disentegrate, right? Damage to a carbon shaft could mean a problem where alum. or steel will take it. Steel more so, obviously.

What kinda combo u running or plan to?
And, how much do u think they really cost?

Answer these & I'll give me a bit more to think about.

I think you missed my point. I put down 431/489, 4th gear 6500rpm dyno pulls and launched it on slicks on a stock driveshaft, transmission and clutch. You don't NEED an aftermarket driveshaft. If you just WANT a carbon fiber shaft, then you have more money than I.

What length of driveshaft do you have? I am in the middle of going from a 5 speed (4wd), to a 6 speed t-56 (2wd) so I'll need to pick one up. Are you going with dynotech engineering for yours?

I'm with turbogibbs. I've had mine up to 150MPH on the dyno several times without issues. I have 3.73 gears as well. Never even a quiver from the driveshaft. I wouldn't worry about replacing it.
