Default GMT800 driveshaft options, will be shortened

I'm getting a new driveshaft for my 02 Yukon. Direct model year fitting ones are always rusted to ****.

I'm going to be shortening the driveshaft for a 4l80e swap.

Seeing how length isn't an issue, will newer year GMT900? fit yoke wise? The newer driveshafts look stronger, larger diameter and seem less prone to rust.

You can have a better one made from scratch. All fresh and new!

There is not much clearance between the stock shaft and the trans so I dont think a larger diameter will fit. I had a stock diameter one custom made that was thick wall steel and used the factory yokes.

I plan to. I'm slightly ignorant, should I not?

The Ebay driveshaft and new ujoints are in transit. Once I have it in hand I'll get it shortened.

I'll be sure to post the final product when I have it all in hand.

from what i understand, you want to keep it. the shaft is short so that helps keep it running smooth.
