Default PI3600 restalled to a 3200 worth it?

my truck pulled WAY harder with that 3200 in my truck vs this 3600. dont get me wrong the 3600 keeps me in the power band but on the top end where my cam really counts its lacking against my buddy's trucks. (S/C'ed 5.3, Built 418 with WCCHs, bigger cam, 3800 converter)

i would think that the truck would flash 3500ish with my weight and it only being like a 9" converter, but it would be tight enough not to lose as much hp on the top end thanks to it being a "tighter converter"

am i wrong or is this threory right? i want to recam bc my truck seems to lose tq at 4200-4700 then flat lines at 5200ish the HP does the same thing but at 5200 it climbs all the way to 6500 and flat lines.

Red is HP, Blue is TQ, the light blue that climbs all the way is RPM.

i just feel the truck could be faster on the roll with a different cam/tighter converter.
i may be wrong though...i dunno.

any input would be awsome! thanks in advance

the truck will be faster on a roll with a tighter converter b/c it has less slippage.
i just downsized from a 9.5" 3700ish down to an 11" 2700ish. for the street it feels much better, the torque is there instantly down low and it's not slipping as much up top.

A good converter shouldnt slow u down as long as your stall speed is 2200 rpm less then you shift point. We tryed this just a few days ago, my buddy has a 77 chevy with a stock 6.0 just has headers on it and it had a yank ss4000 in it and shift point were a 6000. We changed nothing but a stall to a trailblazer stall then you raced from 60mph before and after with my bros truck to see what would happen, there was no were at any time that it was faster with the tb stall it just ran better clear to 115ish with the yank. I know this is going from a 9.5 to an 11in converter and could have done better with like a 3200 9.5?? Every setup is going to be different but in this case bigger was better.

the PI3600 was a swap for my 278mm Circle D 3200.

my 40 punch kept me at only a fender behind Skipperdadys truck. but my 3rd gear pull vs a FI truck is just pointless.

the truck does do better but im thinking a 3200 9.5" would be better on a roll than my 3600 considering its smaller in diameter
