Damn I REALLY want a 6-speed in my truck! I wonder how much it would cost for the entire job.... I should burn up my 60 and trick the dealer into putting a 6l80 in there umder warranty and I'll pay the difference....

Well since you have an 07 it would be a fairly easy swap for you since you already have the core requirements.
I don't mean the tricking the dealer part.

So what all would I need to change to make it work ? Harness, Tcm, Driveshaft, shifter with manual shift button... anything else?

The TCM is inside the transmission so you don't need to buy that separate. You need your harness modified to accommodate the 6L80 and talk to your E38 ECM. Longer driveshaft. You don't need the TUTD shifter unless you want to manually shift the transmssion (at which point you many need a Denali Escaldae cluster but I am not 100% because I haven't tried it). You will also need the 6L80E files added to your tune.
The BCM may need reprogrammed also but again I am not 100% certain.

If NIUGNEP would drive his truck to my house I could tell you for sure!

How did you know I was still watching this? Looked into this myself a while back (L92/6spd would be awesome), only unknown thing at this point is the BCM, rest is doable. BCM for all trucks is the same p/n, so it should be programmable but you need tech II, hopefully just have to enable the options. When I get some time going to look into that to confirm.

If you didn't live so far away I'd be very tempted to drive down and do an engine/tranny swap then we would all know for sure...

It's only like 2,000 miles! Shouldn't take you more than a day and half and 100 gallons of gas!

I might try the swap myself like we talked about last year. Still can't decide if I want to gut a new truck still under warranty or buy a Duramax to tow my trailer a bit more comfortably. A NNBS with its rack and pinion steering and a L92/6L80E for sure would be an improvement over my current truck.

Bought a 2007 Escalade from Texas a couple of days ago and having it shipped up here to Canada (Alberta). Will be stroking the 6.2 to 427 and adding either a 3.3L whipple or a twin turbo setup. Sure hope someone finds the limit on this thing and developes a strengthening kit soon!
