I've been trying to get the reverse lined up. I want to go from awd to 4x4.
So far from what I can tell.

-The transfercase is a direct swap
-The front axle is different because 4x4 can discconect, but is a direct bolt it. Going from awd to 4x4 I'd need a 4x4 front axle, but going in the reverse I'm not sure if you can just lock it in some how.
-I don;t know what codes you would throw losing the 4x4 transfercase
- as far as driveshafts go, I think the read stays the same, but the front is different.

Maybe you two (04herod and PSM) should get together and talk...one wants to go from 4x4 to awd and the other the other way around...maybe you could work out a deal and swap some parts and both get what you want

I've often considered the idea of swapping to awd myself, but then I do a 2wd burnout and change my mind

Yessir, 4wd will definitely bind on dry pavement...

and I believe that PSM is correct, you'll need to swap the transfer case, front diff, and front driveshaft. Not sure about the electronics and/or tuning necessary
