4L80E Torque Converter Selection
#1
I would like to hear from some of you that have aftermarket converters in your 2500 trucks. I am considering a yank 3200HD or similar model. How noticeable is the difference because it seems the stock converter is quite loose anyways. I do realize the new ones are more efficient and would have a better multiplier ratio at stall but want to justify the cost. Thank you for any information.

Yank builds a good converter,I've run both a Yank SC3000 and a Vigilante 3000 3 disc converter, with no problems. With your setup the 3200 stall should be about right. You are on the right track stick with a quality converter like the Yank or Vigilante and you won't be disappointed.

Two more questions, what is the stock converter's rated stall speed and I also see vigilante have single disc and 3 and 5 disc converters. are the multiple discs required and is there a difference in a 4L60E converter and a 4L80E converter?
