Default 4L60E to work manually

Ive got an 06 silveraldo 1500 that I am wanting to do an engine swap in and
instead of spending the high amount of money on a trans programer, I was wondering if you could just put a manual valve body in and it would work. I would rather do that instead of having to reprogram the trans every time I do a power upgrade on the engine. Just wondering what my options are?

Thanks

Putting a manual valve body on a trans will not magically increase it's power holding capability... You need to go into it, build it once (or buy a well built unit) and keep it auto. Manually shifting an auto that's not intended for it doesn't do it any favors, if anything it will damage it further.

+1...at the very least just do a shift kit and some servos, but as your power level increases the likelyhood of your trans living decreases. Best bet is to have the unit built before it breaks (like mine did). I recommend contacting FLT or Performabuilt (links to right>>>), unless you know a local builder with a sterling reputation that you ultimately trust.
