Default 4L60E, have to manually shift???

Looking at a used truck. Owner states that it will not shift on it's own, has to be manually shifted. Mechanical or electrical issue? I would prefer it be a mechanical issue, already have a rebuilt 4L65E on the shelf.

Manual through all the gears? Sounds electrical.

Or is it in limp mode?
