Default 4l60 to nv3500

so my trans has been on its way out the door since i bought it now that i have some simple bolt ons (headers, tune, CAI, efans. this is on a 99 silvy 5.3 4X4) its really not to happy. i know a lot of you guys go the 4l80 swap which is nice but i find it a little pricey. i was thinking today that some 4.8s came with a nv3500 so lets say i took the flywheel clutch and driveshaft would it bolt up? then i got to thinking well the wiring harness would be different so i would need that along with the pedals and possibly the x-member. my first question is would the wiring harness for a manual trans off a 4.8 work on a 5.3? also would my t-case work or would i need a different t-case for a nv-3500 along with a different drive shaft. i also know i would need a retune but i got through nelson for all that, i want to do this because i like driving manual vehicles and the control it gives you. maybe there is a tech article or a swap thread? if so could someone link me to it. i searched for this type of swap but all i found more or less is guys just asking the same question. someones had to have done it. any replies are appreciated!
