Default 4 Link

I am curently in a deep project. 99rcsb 2wd:drive silverado with a 5.7 LS1 cammed with to many bolt ons to list and many more in the making with a s/c in the near future. In the end i am figuring on 600+hp to the wheels. I want to get the most power to the ground and figured that the old leaf springs just wont cut it, i am curious if anyone has 4 linked a truck similar to what i am wanting, now i dont want a air type 4link i would go with a coil spring setup only. if anyone has any ideas i would love to hear them.

you can get a set of caltracs and relocate your shocks behind your rear end . and use a good set of shocks

You could do a 4 link if you really want to, but there are plenty of fast trucks running on the stock leaf springs.

There are guys cutting 1.4X and 1.5X 60 fts with caltracs and relocated adjustable shocks, so a 4 link isn't really neccessary. However, you should check out Blown06's build in the projects section if you really want to go with a 4 link.

.....you can also check out his "older" build in the same section for a setup using the leafs. I was able to cut mid 1.5's on stock leafs with no caltracs. Just relocated shocks, QA-1 at all 4 corners and a properly set up pinion angle. Those 60's were with a relatively mild small motor too. So it can be done without breaking the bank.............

leafs are primitive compared to links/coilovers

why do you guys try to talk him out of a 4 link?
caltracs arent that great, they work but theres many ways to go about it
you can still break a leaf off then how great would they work

4 link or 3 triangulated or paralell with a panhard bar.....be different

If you still plan to drive this thing on the street often, I would not go with a 4-link. I got talked into it at one point and I wish I didn't do it. The ride and handling on the street will suffer greatly with a 4 link. They work well for drag racing, but thats it. I'm currently in the process of putting leafs with cal tracs back under my truck. I plan to leave all the welded in cross-members and brackets for the 4 link in place, so If I want to, I can unbolt the leafs and bolt in the coilovers and link bars. Legal problems within my own state are pushing me to put leafs back in as well.
If all you want the truck for is dragging, then go for it.
