Default 3000 stall lockup question

For those of you will higher stalls, what speed does your converter lock at cruise with very little throttle?

5.3/60e, 3k CircleD, rcsb, 3.42 w/ ~30" tire is locking ~43/45.

With my setup, my rpm drops to ~1200 in 4th which is lugging the hell out of it.

I've been considering having Justin up my lockup to 55 mph.

Chris says 45-55 is normal but 60 mph is a bit extreme.

Just curious what yall have going.

You can get it tuned to not lock up above say 25% TPS. And only lock under really light throttle.
Thats how i have mine setup so it doesnt bog down when it locks.

If i take off with the tach sitting at 2000rpms, it doesnt lock up till it hits 70. If its sitting at 1600 it wont lock up till it sees 55ish. Takes awhile to dial it in how you like it tho.
I didnt want mine to lock up trying to pull a trailer when its up around 2500 or so till i want it to lock. So ill just ease off the gas pedal till locks and roll back in it.

Cool.

If I was doing the tuning myself, I would definitely work something like that; however, since I'm knee-deep in a Blackbear tune, I need something that isn't going to take as many iterations to get right.

It's hard enough dealing through email to describe
a) what it's doing that I like
b) what it's doing that I don't like
c) what I want it to do
d) him telling me what the program can and can't do

an in-person tune would be great, but Justin doesn't make it to my neck of the woods very often.

Since he locks his tunes, I can't exactly just grab EFI Live and tweak the program to my liking. I would have to start from a stock tune and scrap the $$ spent already.

Now, ya'll can call me crazy, but I have a 4200 stall and I have specifically programmed lockup to happen at 20MPH in 2nd or 3rd, 35mph in 4th. Throttle angle needs to be less than 20%. I can literally go from 20MPH to 90MPH without ever leaving lockup. Granted my tuner is crazy good and can keep the engine running in lockup at 1000RPM. I can hold 3rd lockup while accelerating and it only shifts to 4th when the load drops to a certain point (and I can still accelerate decently in 4th lockup, lol).

We set mine for 50 mph, its turning about 1800 I think now. Before it would lock up at about 40 and buck and spit some down at 1400 rpm.

Your best bet is goin to get your own tuning software and set it up how you want it. or its goin to be forever tryin to get sombody else to do it for you.

Or just put a switch on the dash and lock it up when you want to..
I did this also. Tune is setup not to lockup in 2nd, or 3rd. But i can manually lock it up for towing thru town.
