Not really sure why but my transmission is running 15 degrees cooler after swapping rear ends. The 10 bolt howled really bad and loud so maybe it was harder to turn, created more resistance on tranny. Anyway it is running cooler and gas mileage appears to be a little better but the jury is still out on that.

Picked mine up for $425. I had the same moisture issue. My vent was clogged and the axle had sat for a while. Rusted the upper section of the housing and pitted a few ring gear teeth.
