Default 06 TBSS SS3600 too small after LS3 416 swap

In December I pulled the stock LS2 from my Trailblazer and put in a 416 with 11.8 CR, 240/250 .627 .613 114 WCCH Stage 2 L92. In the back of my mind I was thinking I might need a 4000 or so but I had a Yank SS3600 when the truck was full bolt on and decided to see how the extra power and torque would affect it. It is great to drive but it really holding it back at the track. FTI suggested a 3800 that would stall around 4000 to 4200 with a 2.35 STR and Yank and Circle D is still working on getting back with me. In trucks as heavy as ours is there anything I need to consider that maybe I've over looked?

You keep VVT to help that thing idle?

Don't forget it is in a 416 not a 364. It never had VVT and idles fine. The converter that is in there now flashes around 3400 or so.

With something that large and the low end torque It would probably need a 4000 stall.

With the converter it has now it isn't leaving hard enough. Several converter companies have suggested a 4000 to 4200 stall to get some low 1.6 60' possibly even some 1.5

Wow... to only flash a SS3600 to 3400 is fairly weak. Are you talking converter slip, or flash RPM? I have seen 6.0's with small cams and a 100 shot see flash RPM of near 5k.

You definitely need a looser converter in there. The 4000 should do the trick I would think.

IMO, something isn't right in the tune. I know SEVERAL Tbss guys who run that same converter on stock cubes and a few with 402s that cut low 1.6 and every now and then will dip into a 1.59. That converter should actually be flashing a tad higher behind your 416

I agree something is off. You should be able to flash it higher than that. Hell I bet a stock 5.3 flashes it to 3600.
