03-06 complete engine swapped to 2011 Silverado??
#1
I got a great lead on a 2011 Silverado crew cab fully loaded. It had the engine, engine wire harness, trans, radiator, grill, headlights, and hood stripped out of it.
I have a complete drop out motor and 4l60e with wire harness from a 2006 Silverado 1500. Can I use this in the 2011 or is it not worth the hassle?
Thanks!

The 2011 PCM needs to be used, they have a PCM and TCM. The 4L60e will not have that. And all the other BCM functions that go along with that wire harness.
The motor in the 2011 has a different crank trigger compared to the older motor, different cam sensor locations. Wire harness is completely different between the two, you need one for that truck.
You are best off getting a GEN 4 motor, matching transmission (6L80e), wire harness and computer. Then see if the dealership can reprogram everything for you to match up.
