Default Help, transfercase swap

Ok, ive searched google, and it seems that 50% say they don't know, 40% say no way and 10% say maybe. The rest of post talk about swapping it from a 4L60 to a 4L80 and some tail shaft, and imput shaft something... Which i dont need any of that... I need to know the stupid push button / computer deal...

01 2500 suburban, autocrap 246 stock 4L80E...

04 2500 Truck, 263HD, push button, Stock 4L80E.

Being that both are bolted to a 4L80E, the shafts should be the same i would think... So that leads us to the front axle, which is also the same.

Ive seen two post that say,

1) swap the transfer-case computer in the suburban to one out of a truck, * ie autocrap to non autocrap,

2) swap the push button in the dash from auto 2wd 4hi 4lo to 2wd 4hi 4lo and your done...

Can anyone verify this? What ive got is 3 broken vehicles, lol..

I have a built auto track, a broken autotrack and 16K mile never used 263HD out of my truck that killed its self..

From my stand point,
I would like to take the broken auto trac out of sububran #1, (8.1L 4l80e) toss in trash.

Take the built auto trac out of suburban #2 (8.1L 4l80E) and put in suburban #1 ( no problem here both the same ) swap and ride.

Now the tricky Ricky,

Take the broken 4L80E out of suburban #2

Put the 263HD and 4L80E out of Fire truck and in Suburban #2.

So both rides fixed, no money spent and suburban #2 gets a better transfer case, and 16K miles transmission..
