Default 05 Sierra L33 vs 11 Camaro V6

Hey all, my dad bought a 2011 Camaro RS auto brand new a year ago, all he's added is a slp lm2 axle back. Other than that it's bone stock. Most magazine articls I find for the 312hp v6 give times around 14.5 in the quarter, but I think those are for the manual cars, his is auto but feels very fast to me for a v6(I drive a mid 12sec. LS1 Z28 as my weekend car so he's no competition for me there), but I've been messing with him lately saying for less than 7-800$ total in mods, that my DD 2005 sierra z71 ecsb 4x4 could put it on his little 6 cylinder. Low 14s is what I'm gonna shoot for. Right now my truck is all stock L33 5.3, only mods(if you can count them) is a piece of straight pipe welded in place of my stock muffler and, the factory 2" rear blocks removed. I was thinking eBay cold air, eBay LTs, custom 4" single exhaust with bullet muffler, circle d 3000, 40k cooler, vette servo, and custom tune should do the job? Opinions? Keep in mind I have a full service garage at my disposal and can install everything on my own so no labor costs factor into my budget

Throw a cam in the mix and let it roll with your planned mods. It'll do work!

Throw a cam in there and it won't be a problem. 4" exhaust might be a little overkill for a N/A 5.3 though

yeah 4" exhaust is excessive but if that's what you want to do. i'd personally go 3", cheaper, easier to find mufflers, easier to fabricate and will work just as well. but yeah, you shouldn't have too many worries about V6 camaros with those mods and a mild cam.

I like being a little different. I relocated my panhard bar down 2" so I could make a custom ypipe using a 3-4 flowmaster y merge and run 4" single exhaust on my ls1 Camaro. Not like everyone else in the world running 3 inch slash tips right out the back.

Nitrous is cheating if forced induction is cheating. And you can find nitrous kits under his 800$ budget. Sounds like a good way to go IMO
