Just to clarify.. you had the 450 with sock inside and you had starvation under 1/4 tank.. Now you moved filter outside like stock and now have no starvation? Thanks

I actually swapped a different fuel pump prior and then saw all the threads about keeping it above 1/4 tank which is the same issue i had. So when i did the 450 swap i did it this way and had no issues. It finally died after the third truck i swapped it in and 8 years later. I also updated the wiring stock plug and wiring isnt rated for the amps these pull.

I'd like to BUMP this thread, with the same question:
Holley HydraMat, fit to a AEM340 LPH in stock GMT800 bucket.
Is that sufficient to run the last few gallons out of 31 gallon Suburban tank, or is that "Living Dangerous" ?

Also:
for those that have run 12 gauge POWER direct to in tank pump, no problem with using the silly fuel tank PRESSURE sensor port for power wires ?
What is good for sealing the top of fuel tank HAT ?
Will JB weld hold okay on top of gasoline/ ethanol + whatever they blend into fuel these days ? ?
