Waking this one up as it has some good info along with some pictures and my questions are directly related to this kind of install. I have a 99 Silverado and I’ll be installing my walbro 450 soon. I’ll be running deatchwerks 72’s and an Aeromotive FPR. Will the factory return line be sufficient or should I run a bigger one? Will the factory fuel filter cause any issues or should I install a stainless steel one? I have the oem FPR block off as well. I have a 5.3 with cam, ported heads, I’ll be running a vsr 7875 and my goal is around 5-600whp

What is funny is this same pump has been used in a few trucks now. When i did the pump it was a 2000 1500 with an 8.1 swap. I sold the truck but kept the pump and engine. Then i put pump in my 2001 hd with an 8.1 only thing i noticed was the stock wiring was small on the size so i upgraded it to 12 gauge and ran it straight out of the evap sensor hole and sealed it with some sika flex. And now the pump is in my 04 1500 8.1 swap the truck pictured in my avatar LOL

i see that people use these stock fuel rails and lines up to like 650+ hp without issues so I figured with my power goals that it should be fine. I just wanted some real world input before I set it up only to have to go back and do it again. I believe the feed is 3/8 and return is 5/16. If the return is too small I have various sizes of an line around the shop I could make a new one.

ran a very similar setup 3 years ago. 6.0 7875 80lb injectors 1 450 pump. I ran it mostly around 12-14 lbs. in a ecsb silverado. Was getting 12s out of the setup. Probably would of done better with a good tune. If you add ethanol to the equation then you’ll need to upgrade almost all the fuel system. If you start pushing more boost out of the gas setup you’ll be fighting pre ignition. So to clarify, gas setup means less work out of fuel system but can’t go crazy on timing/boost. Ethanol needs more fuel flow (more expensive fuel system) but get to run more boost. Timing plays a factor but it’s more boost and no pre ignition you’d be looking for.
