I'm about to do this same pump on my 02 suburban. It has the shorter bucket than you truck guys, my question is am I cutting a whole in the bucket or letting the pump feed from inside the bucket?

I pulled stoppers out also and running 450 pump. I can't go below 1/4 tank and make a hard pull.

would like to bump this back up, don't hear of too many guys doing this to the older trucks/buckets. im looking at putting a single 450 in my 2000 and im running new fuel lines with an aeromotive regulator. any pics or insight would be great.

So I did the 450 in the 99-03 bucket. I did not hack up the bucket, installed pump and sock inside, and it starves below 1/4 tank. I made 650rwhp without any fuel issues.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm surprised it doesn't starve since the bucket is no longer functional. I guess putting the sock on the floor of the tank is the way to go. I have a 04 and up tank I will be installing dual 450's in. I'll mount them outside the bucket.
