Exclamation Swapping injectors in a parking lot

im driving my truck to the tuner, then swapping to 60s in the lot for w re tune. What tools do I need to bring, any advice?

Looked like socket to unbolt the rail fom the intake
Thin small flat head to help with the clips
Some light oil for lube o rings installing the new injectors

I really don't wanna pay the shop to swap these and I was told do not try to make the hour drive with 60s and stock fuel tune.

I'm taking the plunge and buying the direct replacement injectors from fiveo, called the black ops. About 550. Down the road I think I could re sell them quickly on here being a direct swap for nnbs trucks. A board member has seimens 60s ls1 style for sale but I don't wanna risk the instal when I'm not in my garage. Been reading it's the same instal but need 1/2 spacers w obviously longer bolts.

What do u guys think?

I think you covered it. It's not to hard, just be careful with the o rings when installing.

I found Vasoline worked really well when installing them. Slid right in

Correct!

Most oils will slightly swell up a rubber O-Ring. Most of the time, it's not enough to notice, but when tolerances are tight, it is enough to ruin them.

Use Vaseline or a silicone grease of some form to lubricate it.

I learned this the hard way, with my Italian made diesel injection pump. I was putting it all back together and the entire pump uses one large square cut o-ring to seal the whole thing together. When coated in oil, it wold bust the seal to pieces, which sucked when I only had one and I had to wait 2 weeks for a pack of replacements to come from Germany (of all places).

Once I coated a replacement in in silicone grease, the whole thing slid together like a glove and sealed like a champ.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it's relevant to this thread, but for information purposes only, but silicone grease will swell up a silicone o-ring, so be careful only with those. Vaseline or any petroleum based lubricant, is okay to use for all o-rings, but does little to protect the o-ring, long term.

Anyway, sorry for the long post

Unhook the fuel lines and take everything off as one piece. No real need to disconnect.

If you got it, Yes.

I don't have one and can disconnect the lines, but the tool makes it easier.

Just cause spitting on it and cramming it in works for some situations doesn't mean it works for all

It was alot easier for me to do one rail at a time instead of taking everything off top of the intake and trying to get the wiring harness out of the way..

And you dont have to disconnect the fuel line on the driver rail.
