Default Return less to Return Style Fuel System help.

Hey guys, I tried to figure this out by going through other threads but cannot seem to make any progress.

long story short I am putting a 408 stroker in my 04 2500hd.

intake is going to be a Holley sniper, w/ Holley rails. I could have sworn I unhooked two fuel lines when I pulled the motor but I was apparently thinking of some of the other projects I was working on, because after looking at the the intake and truck there is one line and there for a return less fuel system.

I planned the whole system as if it was a return style. 8 An Feed line from pump to rails, regulator after the rails, and then return to tank.

Does anyone know if the stock fuel pumps have a port for a return line? Can I retro fit a return line or buy an older style truck fuel pump with a return line to make this plumbing work?

I had a game plan but now I lack information about the return less system other then the typical debate between the two.

Any help is appreciated!

Run a -8 or -10 feed line and use the stock one as a return.

Running the line isn’t that part question, is it as simple as just putting a fitting into the tank as a return? Or does it have to go through the sending unit?

Unless you plan on boost running a returnless system is just fine and would make things a lot easier on you. The other line you were thinking of was probably the EVAP.

Not sure why you want to convert to a return system. The returnless system regulates the pressure at the pump making everything much simpler with less parts and less $$$. If you're set on making a return system you'll need a return type fuel pump. I just did a Walbro 255lph (drop in) return type pump. You can see it has the connections for supply, return and EVAP.

I’m not set on a return style system, Everyone running aftermarket fuel rails just seemed to have return style systems.

Regardless of if I run a new line or use stock can I just connect straight into the lines without an aftermarket regulator, since it is already controlled in the tank?

Yeah I had taken the intake manifold of another truck with a return system earlier and the week and just assumed. When I saw the EVAP line it was close enough to make that association ahaha.

That is how GM designed the returnless system.

I’m trying to turn my returnless system into return style. It’s an 05 with nnnbs intake want to keep stock rails. I’ve see you can run the fpr before the rail. Feed to fpr then to rail and run the return back to the tank. I’ve also seen I can use the test port to one inlet of fpr block the other and run the return. Any help ?
