As far as I know my 03 pump is stock. Just installed a wideband and am seeing very lean conditions at WOT. Changed fuel filter with a little improvement. Today I heard a squeal at the tank with KOEO, so I suspect my elderly pump is on the way out. Haven’t checked fuel pressure yet.
I am probably only 350 whp right now, but plan to do a tvs 2300 much later down the road.
I had planned on doing the walbro 450 try not to hack the bucket approach when I go boosted, or maybe a 340 drop in unit from rpm speed. I’d prefer to change the pump once and be done, but worry the big *** pump would be too much for my current setup. Though I am running an aeromotive regulator on the frame rail, installed when the Ly6 went in to deal with stock return system. Shop that dropped the engine in chose that method.
Should I just go stock pump and hold on a bigger pump for later when it is truly needed?

Just something to check out before making your decision-
My truck, '05, I replaced the whole fuel pump assembly. The "hat" that is on top of the fuel tank is metal and was rusted all to hell. You might want to verify yours isn't metal or if it is, is rust free.
