Default Ok, I got a new muffler...

I jad a 18" PowerFlow glass pack muffler, and after 3 years it was doing a whole lot. So I replaced it at my Fiance's uncles muffler shop. I went with the 2-chamber 40 series flomaster (whole system installed for $75!) My question is, will it get louder over time? Its a bit quiter than I would like, but the sound is deeper and richer, I just want it a bit louder. Her uncle said if really really wanted it louder, next time im up in Dallas, I could switch it out with a Flowmaster single-chamber muffler. Any thoughts?

I see no reason it would get louder. Unless some of the internal baffles break loose from their welds.

is there a racing-styler cat I can replace the factory one with? If so, is that gonna screw with mu O2 sensors?

You can get high flow cats that will give it more sound and shouldnt mess with the O2 sensors, but no cats would more than likley wil make you check engine light come on, but you can fix that with a programmer.

No offense but Flow masters on ford trucks suck. I had them on my 99 with true duals and a x-pipe. i was told headers will make it liven up a little, cats yes, but if you want just a little more deep louder rumble look into the Dynomax ultra flows they are turbo canisters with glass packing and sound damn good

It only gets louder if the pipe rusts off like mine did after 8 years exiting at stock location.

It will get louder. My old flowmaster did get louder after a few weeks.

Hell even my new magnaflow got louder after a few weeks and it was a used muffler. Don't ask me how, but it does happen.
