Here is something for you to comprehend, a modded L w/ KB 6lb lower pulley, the 2lb upper pulley, KB TB, CAI, Programmer, Magnaflow catback, and Nitto 555's vs. a 4.8l Silverado with 125 hp wet shot, tune, gears, stall, MT ET streets, and exhaust. I would call that about even mod for mod and your boy in the L got his *** handed to him. http://video.performancetrucks.net/P...2-535E3E4BC5AA

I wouldn't call that mod for mod. Give the L gears/stall/ 125 shot and then see what happens. You guys always wanna count the S/C as a "mod". If it came from the factory, it's not a mod. That simple.

The L comes with 3.73's and the supercharger was not counted but the aftermarket KB pullies that are worth a lot of power (probably atleast worth 100 hp) were counted. I think the pullies offset the wet kit on the Silverado.

Here is the breakdown:

Silverado Lightning
4.8l 5.4
4.10's 3.73's
Dual Flowmasters Magnaflow Exhaust
3000 Stall Kenne Bell Throttle Body
NX 125 Wet Shot Kenne Bell Pullies (lower and upper)
MT ET Streets Nitto 555's
Re-Tuned Re-Tuned
CAI CAI

I honestly think that is a fair matchup, yeah the Silverado has a little more gear but the L has shorter tires. Also the Silverado has a 4.8 and the L has a 5.4. I would invite that same L to come back for another run with 4.10's and a stall, because I spun all the way through first gear on that run ayway. I would be a great run, hope he forks out the dough and wants to run again, and if he does I will get it on video and post it, win, lose, or draw.

Well, you sound like you have a pretty beefy truck. The pullies were only worth probably 75 at the wheels at best if you're talking about an Eaton truck. That would equate out to around 16 psi. That's getting really close to peak efficiency, and really anything over 15 imho, you're just overspinning it unless it's ported. And the throttle bodies really don't add any power to our trucks, just help with throttle response. Just so you know, not tryin to make excuses. Any truck can lose a race.

Now, if it was a KB blown L, then that's just sad on his part. Either that or you're runnin faster than I think. And how tall of a tire are you running?

(can't see the vid, my comp won't let me.)

28" tall, and I did not know that the L had 28" tires....they looked shorter, probably cause they are on 18's. It was an Eaton truck, not KB. I would also agree that the stall is worth more than the throttle body.

If you'd like to know more about mods for the L's and what they're worth, here's an interesting read.

And yes, stock size is 28 in tall. He may have had shorter tires for DR's tho, never know.

well..the GM's are fast..but I'm sure with correct tuning a Ford could pull pretty hard. I raced a new 5.4 today and he was withing 4 truck lengths.
